Sparkling Water and Your Teeth

Any dentist near Belmont will tell you that sugary sports drinks can wreak havoc on your tooth enamel, but where does sparkling water land when it comes to dental health? Any carbonated beverage will have some effect on your teeth, but they don’t all do the same amount of damage. Check out this video to find out how sparkling water can affect your teeth.

Sugary soft drinks might go well with a cheeseburger and fries, but they don’t go well with your teeth. Energy drinks, sports drinks, and even fruit juices are also common culprits behind tooth decay. Sparkling water is slightly acidic due to its carbonic acid, but this won’t in itself damage your enamel. Carbonated water doesn’t contain the same damaging sugars as sodas and sports drinks, so it’s not as harmful to your teeth. Drink this water with your meals, and consider rinsing with regular water when you’re finished.
